How I ever worked in my garage without these I will never know. I replaced a dual light bulb socket with a single receptacle, and mounted two 4 ft long shop lights with two LED tubes in each. AMAZING

Kinja'd!!!

Cost was $20 for each light fixture

and $10 for each bulb

Thanks, yeah the TV is a huge plus. It’s a Smart TV so I have it linked to the wifi and I can watch Netflix out there since we ditch cable.

For heat, the next thing I’m thinking is routing the dryer vent into the garage since our dryer is electric, no gas given off, just heat.

I got some of these. Ridiculously bright and come with a plug.

I’ve been eyeballing new fixtures for my garage for a while now.

I currently have six hard-wired 4 foot florescent fixtures (12 32w bulbs total), and want more.

I see those $10 bulbs are 32w equivalent, so that won’t do. I can’t spend $120 on replacement bulbs if I’m not getting more light.

I’ve got a couple of those babies. Rated output is 18,200 lumens, although you do pay for it. If you wire in a cord, they also make great workspace illumination inside for those of us with strong retinas.

Wouldn’t that make everything all steamy?

Very wet heat.

I’d be really careful about routing your dryer. We have ours like that and realistically it only gives off heat when you do laundry. Also the lint that makes it past the trap has to go through a water catch and it is not 100% perfect. So there is a ton of lint dust around the garage.

I would put a valve in so I could route in the garage during the winter while I’m working out there and the back outside during the warm months

No buzzing, no flickering, and they work at low temps great.

I’ll just wait until they get cheaper. Then maybe I’ll replace all the fixtures.

keep us updated on these over time. I’ve had nothing but problems with LED stuff, buzzing and burning out far too quickly.

I’m still using CFLs though that’s partially because they haven’t burned out for over 5 years now.

Man I’ve eyed up better lighting for the garage I gotta get on it.

Stop paying for netflix and get a device to run Kodi!

I was just thinking that whatever comes out of that is going to be very wet. It will be warm, but it will likely just be steam. I’ve not tried this, so it may not matter, but I would think there would be a lot of moisture in the garage if you did this.
